Description
Heybridge Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, now a house, dated 1682 and 1771 on the rainhead. It features coursed squared buff sandstone rubble, a Kerridge stone-slate roof, and a stone ridge, with one gable brick chimney. Originally a lobby-entry house, it has been altered into a square block. The building is two stories high with a four-bay front. The left two bays are a 20th-century addition with rendered walls, casement windows, and a glazed door. The right two bays form a gabled cross wing, which includes a 20th-century lean-to stone porch, a two-light chamfered stone mullioned window with a rubble hood mould, and a two-light casement with glazing bars above. A date plaque between the bays reads "TCF 1682," and there is a blocked circular light in a diamond-shaped stone in the gable.
