Description
The former Lord Street Methodist Sunday School, now used as a theatre, dates from around 1850. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The building has two storeys and a seven-window range, arranged in a 2-5-2 pattern, with the outer bays slightly advanced. There are doorways located in the inner angles with the outer bays, with the right-hand doorway set in an added porch. The entrance features paired panelled doors within plain architraves. One of the lower windows on the right has been converted into a doorway. The lower windows have shallow segmental arches made of rubbed red brick, with paired windows in the outer bays. Above, there are similar round-arched windows. The building is topped with a modillion eaves cornice and has stacks on the end walls.
