Description

Cow Bridge is a road bridge built in the early 19th century. It features a single elliptical span supported by abutments on either side. The downstream side has a central archway with voussoirs and a hood mould above it. There is a band above this archway at the level of the base of the parapet, which is made of larger ashlar blocks that form the coping. On the left abutment, it breaks forward at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. The upstream side is essentially similar, but both abutments break forward on this side.
