Description
This garden ornament, located approximately 15 yards south of North Rode Manor, dates from around 1830 and was originally an entrance porch to the house. It is constructed from ashlar and features four columns that support three sections of outer walling for the canopy. The two front columns are each of quatrefoil section, while the rear columns are flattened at the back where they originally connected to the house. All columns have moulded bases and capitals. The structure includes four-centred archways on the front and sides, each adorned with dagger panels in the spandrels and a frieze of Gothick arches above. It is listed for its group value with the manor.
