Description
This is a 17th-century farm outbuilding located approximately 10 yards southeast of Deers Green Farmhouse. It is constructed with a timber frame featuring brick and butt-boarded infill, topped with a slate roof. The building is single storey.
The yard-facing side originally had 15 cells of small framing, but now has 4 cells, with the far-right section replaced by a brick wall. It has an ashlar plinth on the left and brick on the right. There are angle braces at the left corner and at the fifth and tenth uprights from the left. The left side has three stable doors, while the right side features a double doorway. The upper row of cells is finished with butt-boarded infill.
On the left gable end, there are 5 cells of small framing with an ashlar plinth, brick infill, and angle braces at the corner cells, which also have butt-boarded infill. The road-facing side is made of brick and consists of two different construction phases. Inside, there are two trusses with angle braces and a tie-beam supported by angle braces.
