Description
The barn east of Yew Tree Farmhouse dates from the late 17th century. It features a timber frame that is brick nogged and weather boarded, topped with a corrugated metal sheet roof. The structure consists of three bays, measuring 18 panels long and 6 panels wide, and stands on a stone plinth. The framing is two panels high with passing braces, and the area above the centre rail is weather boarded.
Inside, the barn is divided into three bays by timber divisions below the trusses. It has strutted trusses, an original ridge tree, and purlins with wind braces. The gable trusses include four posts positioned between the beams, with collars and struts above the collars.
