Description

The water tower on Tower Hill, located to the north of West Road, was built in 1881 and designed by engineer William Blackshaw. It is cylindrical in shape and constructed from red and yellow brick, featuring bands of blue brick. The tower consists of three stages, each adorned with semi-circular headed openings that have continuous head bands and are arched over the openings. It also includes a decorative brick frieze and a modillion cornice, which is topped by thin iron railings.
