Description
Overton House is a good mid-18th century house set back from the road. It is constructed of red brick with a stone plinth and has three storeys. The building features a slight central projection with a stone eaves cornice and a pediment. There are five sash windows, with the central window highlighted by a stone surround with an arched pediment, while the outer windows have keyblocks and flat brick arches. The house has stone quoins at the ends and center, along with two stone stringcourses. The central doorway is well-designed, featuring a stone surround with a double keyblock and a pediment on flat consoles, and it has a six-panelled door. The eaves cornice is moulded in stone, and the gabled ends are coped with stone. The roof is covered with green slate, and there are plain stacks.
