Description

The tower in the garden of Woodbank House is a mid-19th century structure designed as a belvedere. It is built from purple-red bricks in English bond and English garden wall bond, with yellow painted sandstone dressings. The tower is square in plan and has four storeys, featuring a balcony that is set behind a low triangular pediment. Each floor has windows with three-light wooden casements that have bevelled stone heads. The balcony is adorned with iron railings that include some scroll work, and an iron weather-vane sits atop the stone-coped pediment. This tower occupies a very prominent position within the garden of Woodbank House.
