Description
This boundary stone, located at the junction of Bosley civil parish with Gawsworth and Sutton civil parishes, is likely from 1849 and made of red sandstone. It has a triangular shape with a rounded top. The letter "B" for Bosley is on the east side, "G" for Gawsworth is on the west, and "S" for Sutton is on the north side. It is probable that, like other stones of this type found on the boundaries of this and nearby parishes, the year 1849 is inscribed beneath each parish initial; however, this stone is set too deeply in the ground for the date to be visible.
