Description
The weir at Astle Hall is a late 19th-century structure made of coursed rubble and red English garden wall bond brick, featuring stone dressings. It has a semi-circular weir pool with a semi-circular waterfall wall constructed from coursed rubble and topped with moulded, lipped coping. Opposite this, there is a straight brick wall that includes four large drain holes with stone surrounds. The angles between this wall and the semi-circular wall are supported by slightly battered buttresses of coursed rubble. Additionally, the side of the bridge has a similar brick wall with four drain holes and buttresses, but this wall features stone sills for the drain holes.
