Description

Waterloo is a former beam-engine house, dated 1815, that was converted into a house around 1850. The walls are washed and rendered, topped with a Welsh slate roof, and feature three plastered stacks. The house has an irregular front with three gables arranged in parallel ranges, extending over one and two storeys. A 12-pane sash window sits under a cambered head on the left-hand gable, while the remaining two-storey gables contain 16-pane sashes under similar cambered heads. A projecting, gabled porch on the left side has a semi-circular head above a fanlight with radial glazing bars and a 6-panelled door—both replacements from the 20th century. Decorative paintwork adorns the plain barge boards, and a plaque displaying the name and date is fixed to the central gable.
