Description

A pair of weavers' cottages, likely dating from the late 18th century, are constructed of watershot coursed stone with a tiled roof, featuring two skylights and two small modern cowls. The design is double pile, with each cottage consisting of a single bay. The cottages have a basement and two storeys. A flight of six stone steps, protected by modern wooden railings, leads to a raised doorway on the right-hand side; No.2 has a plain surround with cornice. Each cottage has a large, stepped, triple window on each floor, with plain sills, heads and jambs, all fitted with modern glazing bars. No.2 includes one square basement window, which has a head for three lights, while No.4 has a triple basement window with glazing bars. The wall of No.4 incorporates quoins from the adjoining building at No.6.
