Description

A farmhouse, dated 1656 on the porch, and now a house, was originally built in the 17th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with quoins, and has a stone slate roof with a modern chimney at the right gable. The building follows a three-bay baffle-entry plan, with a former barn extended to the left, now altered. The original north front features a porch located between the first and second bays, with the roof extending over it. A Tudor-arched doorway, with a projecting moulded datestone lettered HKE and the date 1656, is situated in the right side wall of the porch, as is a small window. The front and rear elevations both have double-chamfered stone mullion windows with hoodmoulds. To the left of the porch is a three-light window on each floor, and to the right are two windows on each floor, with a four-light window and a two-light window at ground floor, and three-light windows above. The rear elevation (now the front) has three three-light windows at ground floor, and four at the first floor; the third first-floor window is a two-light window lacking a mullion. The interior was not inspected.
