Description
The Church of St Simon, built in 1879-80 by architects Austin, Johnson and Hicks, is a charming small church constructed from roughly coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, designed in the late Gothic style. It features a simple rectangular layout without aisles or a separate chancel, with a vestry located on the north side. The south side boasts a gabled porch, while decorative bargeboards and other details enhance its appeal. An elegant octagonal fleche indicates the chancel's position. The side windows are square-headed, the west window has a segmental hood, and the east window features a pointed arch.
