Description
This is a barn and gin-gang located to the south of Downhill Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The structure consists of three sections built from roughly squared coursed limestone and sandstone rubble, topped with pantile and Welsh slate roofs that feature stone gable coping. The building has two low storeys, with the older section including a first-floor loading bay. The later section contains a gin at right angles, featuring internal beams and a complete horse wheel, which is a rare survival.
