Description

This is a limekiln located to the southeast of Downhill Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed from roughly squared limestone rubble with brick dressings. The structure features three entrances, each set in one of its three flat sides, which are topped with elliptical brick arches. The limekiln is built against a steep hillside, utilizing stone from Downhill Quarry.
