Description
The Britannia Public House, built in 1898 and designed by architect J W Donald, is a notable example of a late Victorian public house. It features a brick structure with stone dressings and slate gabled roofs, comprising three bays and two storeys with attics. The building showcases transom and mullion windows and has elaborate gables. A distinctive feature is the splendid frosted glass globe supported by a wrought iron scrolled bracket, which is the only example remaining in its original position. Additionally, there are good wrought iron railings surrounding the small areas in front of the building.
