Description
The Town Moor boundary stone opposite number 73 is a boundary marker from the 18th century located in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is made of pecked sandstone with ashlar panels and features a tapered shape with a sloped top. On the north face, it displays the arms of Newcastle, which consist of three castles in low relief. The sloping top is incised with the number 'No.44'. This stone was likely erected following a legal dispute in 1770 between the freemen and the mayor and burgesses regarding the ownership of the Town Moor.
