Description
Nos. 1-23 and attached fences Nos. 2-12 are three terraces of houses built between 1978 and 1981 by Ralph Erskine's Arkitektkontor, with Vernon Gracie as the site architect and White, Young and Partners as the structural engineer. Fairclough Buildings Ltd was the main contractor. The street frontages are made of red brick, while the garden fronts are buff brick, featuring blue weatherboarded eaves facing Oban Gardens. The roofs are covered with concrete Marley Modern tiles. The houses are two storeys tall and are situated on a steeply sloping site, stepping down in groups of three. They have timber windows with timber surrounds and aluminium opening lights, as well as timber doors with glazed panels, some of which have been replaced with hardwood. These doors are sheltered by red, green, and blue metal hoods. Bird boxes are located at each step of the terraces. The interiors have not been inspected, and the blue fences are an integral part of the overall design.
