Description

Nos. 11 and 13 Shakespeare Street are houses, now restaurants, built in 1837 by Benjamin Green for Richard Grainger. They are constructed from sandstone ashlar and feature a Welsh slate roof. The buildings rise four storeys and have four bays. The ground floor has been altered, while the upper floors contain sash windows in plain reveals, some of which have glazing bars. The second floor is distinguished by an entablature with a prominent cornice, and there is a top cornice and blocking course. These buildings are graded for their group value with the nearby Theatre Royal.
