Description
The presbytery attached to the Church of St. George is a Roman Catholic building dating from around 1869, designed by A.M. Dunn. It is constructed of white brick in Flemish bond, featuring polychrome brick and ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of four bays.
There is a wooden porch in the second bay that has ornamental panels and a door on the right side. Above the porch, there is a dentilled cornice with a pediment over the central projection. The sash windows, which have late 19th-century glazing bars, include three in the canted first bay, each with shouldered stone lintels. A Lombard frieze is raised over the canted bay, which has an upper hip. The hipped roof is topped with irregularly-bonded polychrome brick chimneys.
