Description
The Parish Hall of the Church of Holy Saviour, built in 1838 and possibly designed by Benjamin Green, originally served as a parish school. It features coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings, a plinth, and quoins, topped with a Welsh slate roof that has overlapping stone gable copings on moulded kneelers. The building is one high storey with three bays by one. The central door is renewed and set back in an elliptical-headed double-chamfered surround, which is topped by a floating cornice within a low-pitched gabled porch that has a sundial finial. Flanking the door are three-light chamfered stone-mullioned windows, also with floating cornices. The return gable peaks have slit windows. There is a low and coped ashlar chimney on the left end. A rear brick extension is not of interest.
