Description

The bandstand is located in Exhibition Park, off Claremont Road in Newcastle upon Tyne. It dates to approximately 1875 and is constructed of cast iron with a zinc roof, the base of which is largely obscured by planting. The bandstand features an octagonal platform with a scrolled iron balustrade supported by slender columns which carry arches with decorative spandrels. It has a round-topped, incurved roof topped with a spike finial.
