Description
Nos. 108 and 110 Grainger Street are shops and houses, now functioning as shops, built around 1836, likely by architect John Wardle for developer Richard Grainger. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar and has four storeys with five bays. The ground floor has been altered, while the upper floors feature a giant Ionic Order. Flat pilasters, with the inner four being fluted, flank sash windows that have glazing bars set in plain reveals. The second floor includes a sill band and an entablature with a prominent cornice. The top floor has panelled pilasters beside windows, some of which have been altered, beneath a cornice and blocking course with blocks positioned above the pilasters.
