Description
A row of houses, now an arts centre, dates from the late 18th century with 19th-century shop fronts. The building is stucco, likely over brick, with ashlar stone dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. Reeding details the pilasters of the shops. A carriage entrance is located on the left side of the building. Windows have wedge stone lintels and stone sills and wide window boxes; the windows in number 71 have renewed sash windows with glazing bars, while the others were empty at the time of survey. A sill band runs along the first floor. The interior of number 71 retains its original staircase, featuring two turned balusters per tread and a ramped handrail, along with some original door and window woodwork. A gabled rear wing of number 71 shows tumbled-in brickwork. A short stucco extension from the early 19th century is located behind number 75 and connected by a short link. The building was undergoing renovation at the time of the survey.
