Description
This bridge, located 280 metres south of Axwell Park, dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and coursed squared sandstone. The bridge features a stone segmental arch, which is supported by abutments and pilasters made of coursed squared sandstone. There is an ashlar band at the level of the road bed, and the bridge has flat stone coping on the ashlar parapets and the quadrant end walls. The coping on the parapet pilasters is sloped, and the finials were noted to be damaged at the time of the survey.
