Description

This is an early 19th-century terrace of houses located on Bishopton Lane in Stockton on Tees. The terrace comprises numbers 63 to 81 (odd). It is a two-storey building with two windows on each level. The houses were originally constructed with brick, featuring brick flat arches over thick-framed windows. Numbers 63 to 69 have been altered with modern shop fronts. Numbers 63 to 81, excluding number 69, have half-glazed sash windows, while number 69 has casement windows. Ground floor bay windows are present, with numbers 65, 67, 71 and 77 featuring two-storey bays. The roof is slate, with brick chimneys, and is finished with a wood bracketed eaves cornice. Doorways are varied; numbers 71 and 73 have Tuscan doorpieces, numbers 75 and 81 have pilastered doorpieces, and numbers 77 and 79 have bracketed doorpieces.
