Description

Ivy Cottages are a row of red-brick cottages dating to circa 1700, situated on The Green in Egglescliffe. The row comprises Nos 1-5 and is largely original, though with some alterations. The cottages are one and a half storeys in height, with the upper windows set beneath coped gables that break the eaves of the pantiled roof. A stepped and dentilled brick eaves cornice runs along the top of the elevations. Nos 4 and 5 have been rendered on their ground floors. Some windows have been replaced with modern casements, set within flat, gauged brick arches. Some doors are modern, whilst the remainder have been restored.
