Description

The remains of the village cross in Egglescliffe date back to the medieval period. It features a low stone podium with an inscription that reads: "To mark the coronation of King George V, William Lawrenson caused this podium of the ancient village cross of Egglescliffe to be restored. 1911." Above the podium is the stump of the cross shaft.
