Description
Gloucester House, formerly known as The Trevelyan Hotel, is a mid-18th century building located on Church Road in Stockton on Tees. It stands three storeys high with a parapet and features a blocked area of three plus three windows, which are late glazed sashes set beneath brick flat arches with stone keys. The building is constructed of brick and has stone rustic quoins, a cill band at the first floor, and bands above the first and second floors, topped with stone coping. Each first-floor window has a small bowed balcony made of wrought iron with a light, lozenge pattern.
To the left, there is a side door with a stone surround and key, leading to an eight-panel door with a rectangular light above. The third bay from the right showcases a fine Doric doorcase, which includes engaged half-columns supporting a pediment and a Doric frieze, along with another eight-panel door. At the rear, there is a long two and three-storey brick extension.
