Description

The outbuildings, wall, and mounting block located approximately 130 metres north-east of Ormesby Hall were built around 1800, with a cart shed added in the early to mid-19th century. The stable, joiners' workshop, and screen wall are constructed from chevron-tooled dressed sandstone and feature clay pantile roofs with stone ridges and gable copings. The joiners' workshop is made of brick in English garden wall bond.

The stable, cart shed, and wall form three sides of a yard, with the joiners' shop attached to the north-east side of the stable. The north-west face of the cart shed has boarded double doors. The stable includes a hayloft above, with a central keyed elliptical-arched passage opening flanked by inserted windows featuring hit-and-miss and glazed upper lights. There are slit breathers on the first floor and 6-panel stable doors set in wood architraves in the passage. The stable has a hipped roof.

The joiners' shop features a central boarded door beneath brick flat arches, flanked by fixed-light windows with glazing bars, although the left window has been altered. The roof is hipped at the north-east end and includes glazed panels in the south-east pitch. The screen wall runs between the south corner of the stable and the north corner of the stable block, featuring curved copings. A 6-step mounting block is located on the south-east side. Inside the stable, there are hay racks and ramped wood partitions between stalls. Outhouses adjoining the north-west side of the wall are not of special interest. This structure is included for its group value.
