Description

The cart shed, located 50 meters northeast of Waterfall Farmhouse, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It features chevron dressed sandstone and has a shallow-pitched, hipped roof covered with Welsh slate, including lead-clad ridges. The structure is two storeys high and has three segmental-arched openings on the northwest and southeast sides, with a single arch on the northeast side. The southwest side is adjacent to a barn. Inside, there are three internal arches running from northwest to southeast: a wide segmental arch flanked by two narrow semi-circular arches. On the southeast side, there is a central first-floor loft doorway with a boarded door, flanked by two altered sash windows that still have glazing bars. At the time of the survey, the building was empty. Other farm buildings and reconstructed cottages to the north and northeast of the cart shed are not of interest.
