Description
This barn, dating from around 1800, is located at the north-east angle of Brough House Farmhouse. It features dressed sandstone construction, while the horse gin, built in the early to mid-19th century, is made of coursed random sandstone rubble with quoins. The barn has dressed sandstone buttresses and piers with off-sets, and a stepped plinth on its south face. Both structures are topped with clay pantile roofs that have stone ridges and gable copings. The machinery from the horse gin has been removed. There are mid to late 20th century farm outbuildings attached to the south and east sides, but these are not of interest.
