Description
Hartburn Grange Farmhouse, dated 1722, features the initials R T on its door lintel. The adjacent cartshed is from the early 19th century. The farmhouse is built from coursed roughly-squared stone with stone dressings, while the cartshed is made of squared stone. The farmhouse has a 20th-century grey tile roof, and the cartshed has a slate roof. It stands two storeys high with five symmetrical bays. The central entrance has a renewed door set in a chamfered surround, and there are late 19th-century sash windows in old recessed and chamfered surrounds. The gables are coped, and the end stacks have been rebuilt in brick. The returns of the farmhouse display open-pedimented gables with reverse-stepped blocks, and the rear elevation features a contemporary outshut. The lower cartshed to the left is included for its group value, with a cart entrance that has a timber lintel and a boarded door to the left with an alternating-block surround.
