Description

1 to 3 The Curtains off The Wynding is a group of three cottages located in Beadnell Village, dating from the late 18th century with some alterations made in the 19th century. The cottages are constructed from coursed rubble with stone dressings and feature slate roofs that have a single ridge stack and coped gables.

The southeast front of the building is two storeys high, with a single-storey range to the right. It has an off-centre gabled stone porch flanked by single plain sash windows. To the right of the porch is a single plank door, and to the left is a two-light sliding sash window, followed by a 20th-century glazed door. Above, there are three two-light sliding sash windows, with two slightly larger replacement two-light sliding sashes to the left.

On the southwest gable wall, there is a single upper plain sash window. The rear of the building features, to the right, a top-hung glazing bar casement, followed by two 20th-century glazed doors, a small casement window, another top-hung glazing bar casement, and two more glazed doors with a small casement in between. At the northeast corner, the building adjoins the rear of the Craster Arms. This group of cottages is included for its group value.
