Description
The gate piers and screen wall located 500 metres south-west of Longhirst Hall were built around 1824, likely by the architect Dobson. They are constructed from ashlar stone. The square piers feature a chamfered plinth and swept caps topped with ball finials, supporting a 20th-century wrought-iron gate. A short section of dwarf wall with plain rails connects each pier to a serpentine wall, which has gabled coping and extends to similar outer piers that do not have finials.
