Description

Milestone located at the end of Donkin Rigg Road, dating from the mid-18th century. It is made of sandstone and stands approximately 18 inches high, featuring two faces and a rounded back. One face is inscribed with "RB" for Rothbury, while the other displays "H" for Hexham. This milestone marks the Rothbury-Hexham turnpike, which was opened around 1751.
