Description

Byres and shelter sheds located approximately 10 yards north of Bantam Folly at Belsay Castle were built in the mid-18th century for Sir William Middleton. The structure is made of random rubble and features an asbestos roof. It is a long single-storey range with six bays, where the shelter sheds on the left have round tapering piers, square capitals, and flat lintels. The byres on the right have stable-type doors and a gabled roof. This building is included for its group value.
