Description

Burnmouth Bridge, built in 1759, features the initials W.O. (William Ord) on the internal face of the south parapet. The bridge was widened in 1933, which is noted on the internal face of the north parapet. It is constructed from squared stone and has a segmental arch with alternate voussoirs raised. The arch ring is complemented by a band below the parapet, and there are flanking pilasters that rise as piers with pyramidal caps, which terminate the chamfered parapet.
