Description

No. 84 Newgate Street is a house that has been divided into three flats. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and is constructed of rendered stone with exposed quoins. The building has a pantiled roof and stands three storeys high with four bays. The doorway, located in the third bay, features an elaborate stone surround with an eared architrave, a keystone, and a wide semicircular pediment supported by large brackets. The windows on the ground floor are 20th-century two-pane sashes, and there is a sill band on the first floor. The roof is gabled.
