Description

This is a late 17th or early 18th century farmhouse, possibly built on earlier foundations, and with adjacent outbuildings. It was restored in 1976. The farmhouse is constructed of rubble, with a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The central door is boarded, and there's a renewed nine-pane window to the left and a four-pane fixed window to the right. On the first floor, a small, blocked window sits above the door, with small four-pane fixed windows to the left and right. Stone end stacks are present. To the left of the farmhouse is a one-storey outbuilding, consisting of two wide bays, with a boarded door and a stable door. The right return of this outbuilding displays corbels indicating the presence of an earlier stack. The rear elevation reveals an outshut with three small windows. In the right return is a 17th century chamfered doorway which was brought from a ruin at NY 799481. To the right of the farmhouse, another outbuilding has a chamfered doorway with massive jambs, flanked by small windows; the wall was rebuilt in 1976 using original features. Inside the farmhouse, prior to the 1976 restoration, the roof had two upper cruck trusses with ogival blades. The new roof structure is a copy of the original but with straight blades.
