Description
Nos. 25 and 25A on Oldgate is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick in an irregular English Garden Wall Bond and features a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. A large 19th-century Tuscan doorcase is located in the left bay, providing entry to St. Bede's Court. The windows are two-pane sash types set in shouldered architraves.
The roof is steeply pitched and has tumbled-in brickwork on the right gable, along with renewed brick end stacks. Inside, there are two six-panel doors within the passageway, and the staircase is adorned with stick balusters.
