Description
This block of farm buildings, located 30 meters north-east of Home Farmhouse, likely dates from the early 19th century. The structure is built from squared stone and features rusticated quoins, door and window surrounds. It has slate roofs with coped gables that include moulded kneelers and finials. The building is arranged in an L-plan, consisting of a two-storey block of byres with haylofts, accompanied by single-storey hemmels to the north and a smithy to the south, creating an overall T-plan layout. The north gable of the hemmels and the south gables of the main block and smithy are adorned with slit windows set in raised moulded surrounds. The smithy includes a 12-pane sash window and a tall ashlar stack that is stepped and corniced.
