Description
The building consists of byres with a granary above, and shelter sheds, located approximately 30 yards south-east of Blackheddon Farmhouse. It was constructed in 1856 using dressed stone with ashlar dressings, featuring Welsh slate and tiled roofs. The structure includes two ranges that are arranged at right angles.
At the rear, there are two-storey byres and a granary. The byres have four stable-type doors set in alternating-block surrounds, with the date inscribed on the lintel of the third door. There are also two small casement windows and six half-shuttered windows on the granary. The roof is gabled with flat coping.
To the left, the single-storey shelter sheds project outward. These consist of three bays supported by round ashlar piers with square capitals and flat lintels. The roof is hipped and covered with Welsh slate.
