Description

Broomhouse Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of ashlar, with a Welsh slate roof. Originally a three-bay structure, a single-storey, one-bay addition was built to the left. The building was extended to four full bays in the mid-19th century. A parallel range was added to the rear, also in the mid-19th century. A solid, square, corniced porch is centrally positioned on the front facade, featuring a crescent moon in the frieze, a decorative element in honour of the Duke of Northumberland. The windows are sash windows, though the glazing bars have been removed. Two corniced stone stacks were originally located on the gable ends, but one has been repositioned on the ridge. A later brick stack is visible on the left gable.
