Description
The farm buildings to the west of Broomhouse Farm House date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from roughly dressed and coursed stone, with well-dressed stone around the openings, and feature a Welsh slate roof. The buildings are arranged symmetrically, projecting at right angles to a main range. There are five projections, with the central one being a two-storey barn, while the single-storey cowsheds on either side are supported by cast iron columns. The main range at the back includes segmental arches leading into the cowsheds. To the right of the barn, the structure rises to two storeys with a granary above. Behind the barn, there is a threshing shed with a granary above it, along with an attached circular gingang topped with a ball finial. The roof structure consists of a main tie beam with radiating subsidiary tie beams, a king post with struts to the principal rafters, and two rings of curved purlins. Massive beams are present to support former machinery. Additionally, there is a further two-storey range at the front of the farm, which includes a cart shed with four segmental arches and a granary above, accessible by outside stairs.
