Description

This bridge, located 240 metres west-north-west of Shildon House, was originally built to carry a mine railway and dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed from squared stone, featuring heavy abutments made of large blocks. These abutments support a narrower segmental arch made of smaller masonry, which may have been added later. The bridge has a paved invert.
