Description
The pigsty, forge, and garden wall located approximately 10 yards north of Belsay Hall Stables date from the early 19th century and are constructed of ashlar. On the left side, there are two pigsties integrated into the wall, featuring low square doorways and a mono-pitch roof at the rear. In front of the pigsties, the exercise yards are adorned with arched coping.
The wall itself is about 30 yards long and 8 feet high, topped with flat coping. There is a boarded door located in the center of the wall.
To the right, the forge has a segmental-arched entry with boarded double doors. It also features a mono-pitch roof at the rear and a small square chimney stack with a cornice.
