Description

The gatepiers and walls located approximately 40 yards northeast of Shotton House were built in 1829. They consist of dressed stone walls topped with ashlar coping. The walls are short and serpentine, standing about 4 feet 6 inches high, featuring chamfered coping and square end piers of the same height. The taller gatepiers are rusticated and adorned with Greek key decoration in the abaci, patterned friezes, moulded cornices, and flat caps.
